I applaud the author for the effort to present complex science to ordinary readers like me. In fact it's hard to put into words, but I would say it's more of an experience than a movie. If you really want to tear apart the science used in Interstellar and find flaws or inconsistencies, better refer to this honest scientific explanation written by the theoretica. I recommend the book to anyone who wants a very slightly deeper understanding of the movie plot points and dialog. Yet in The Science of Interstellar, Kip Thorne, the physicist who assisted Nolan on the scientific aspects of Interstellar, shows us that the movie's jaw-dropping events and stunning, never-before-attempted visuals are grounded in real science. Higher dimensionality, the science of black holes and worm holes, tidal gravity, Gargantua simulations, bulk beings, gravitational anomalies - presented in the easiest way with illustrations and detailed explanations.
